Terms of Service

These terms apply to work done by SecStackHQ ("we", "us") for you ("the client"). Each project also has its own written quote or agreement, which takes priority if it differs from these terms.

Scope and quotes

Every project starts with a written scope and quote that lists the deliverables, timeline and price. Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before we begin. Prices on our website are starting points in US dollars.

Payment

Payment terms, such as an upfront deposit and milestone payments, are stated in each quote. We may pause work on overdue invoices.

Ownership

Once the final invoice is paid, you own the deliverables made for you, including code, design files and content. We keep ownership of our general tools, methods and any third-party software, which stays under its own licence.

Security testing and authorisation

We only perform penetration testing and security assessments on systems that you own or are authorised in writing to test. You confirm that you have that authority. We agree the scope, timing and limits in writing before we start, and we don't test anything outside that scope. You're responsible for backups of your systems before testing begins.

Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information, content and access on time.
• Review work promptly and give clear feedback.
• Make sure content you supply doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

Revisions

The number of revision rounds is stated in each quote. Extra revisions may be charged.

Results and no guarantees

We work carefully and professionally, but we can't guarantee specific business results, search rankings, traffic or that a system will never be breached. Security testing reduces risk but can't prove a system is completely secure.

Confidentiality

We keep your business and system information confidential and use it only for your project. See our privacy policy for how we handle personal data.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Cancellation

Either of us may end a project with written notice. You pay for work completed up to that point and any non-refundable costs.
